Easter Sunday - April 12, 2020

Dear Holy Cross Parish Family,

I want to wish you all a Happy and Blessed Easter!

As I mentioned in our Easter Postcard, this Easter is unlike any other that we have celebrated. Yes. The coronavirus pandemic has spoiled our celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord and our own resurrection to new life with Him.

However, while life seems so ordinary and makes it difficult for us to experience the passage from Lent to Easter celebrations, the Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead strengthens us in the confidence that everything will be fine once again. Certainly, missing the celebrations of the Triduum Paschal as physical community and family will always leave a feeling of dissatisfaction, hunger and thirst in our hearts and souls. Yet, our unbroken spiritual communion will always bind us together in the Risen Lord. The Lord’s resurrection brings to us the hope that His light will indeed overcome the darkness of the present situation.

As your pastor, it is with a heavy heart that I am sending you this message. Missing you all this time, and even only for one day, is something I never imagined. Every day, when I celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of Mass, I offer a special prayer for each and every one of you during this trying time of our faith.

I want to thank you for your continued support for your Holy Cross Parish. Your donations, offerings and gifts are the only source of our Parish survival. The absence of physical gathering has strongly impacted our collections and hit the ability of the parish to respond to all our needs. I encourage you to continue to support your parish through any way you can. Many possibilities are offered for us to do so:

  • Mail your donation
  • Drop your donation at the parish door mail slot
  • Go online on to our website and use our “WeShare” online giving or “Text to Give” to support your parish.
  • You may also think about a one-time gift to support your parish.

I know that many of you have already subscribed to online giving. Thank you very much for doing so. Our church’s survival depends on your continued generosity and support.

I wish you once more a Blessed Easter. May the Risen Lord grant you His peace and surround you and your loved ones with His protection.
